Suspension System of an Automobile

Suspension System Suspension system is the basically the term given to the system of springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and supports the vehicle. This is done to isolate the vehicle body from road shocks that maybe in the form of bounce, pitch and roll and caused due to the bumps, potholes and other road irregularities.Whenever  Tyre of the vehicle hits an obstruction on the road it experiences a reaction force and the suspension system tries to reduce this force. In short, all the parts and components that isolates the vehicle from road shocks are collectively known as suspension system. The main objective of the suspension system is as followed below:   It supports the weight of the vehicle    Provides a smoother ride for passengers   Protects the vehicle from damage  Keeps the wheels firmly pressed to the ground for better traction   It isolates the vehicle from road shocks and vibrations Main Components of a suspension s

Magnetic Ride Suspension

Magnetic Ride Suspension Magnetic Ride Suspension is a type of Active Suspension system that actively controls the vertical movement of the wheels with respect to the vehicle's body. It uses a kind of shock absorber, which also known as MR damper, in which the liquid contains a suspension of metal particles and the conventional fluid which on the application of magnetic field that turn on the signals provided by the sensors.  How is works ? The piston have a number of channels through which the liquids flow in normal condition but whenever there is any sharp turn or any other kind of irregularity on the road surface which bring the role of suspension system in action, then sensors send the signals and the electromagnetic field is generated which aligns all the metal particles in horizontal direction which as a result creates difficulty for the piston to move and provides stiffness which results in better handling as well as control and contact with the surface improving t
